Manchester United star in trouble with the FA after ‘improper’ conduct last season
The Red Devils visited the Goodison side for a Premier League match in April this year. Anthony Gordon was the sole goalscorer of the fixture, finding the back of the net in the 27th minute. The game ended 1-0.
At full-time, an incident occurred in which the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was involved that has been deemed inappropriate by the Football Association. The 37-year-old’s conduct has been deemed “improper and/or violent”.
United have taken note of the verdict. The club will support Ronaldo in his response to the charge. The Portuguese has not had the best of times recently.
Ronaldo has dropped to the bench in recent weeks. The 37-year-old has started thricethis season under Erik ten Hag. In eight appearances in the 2022/23 campaign, the Portuguese has scored once.
In contrast, Ronaldo was our top goalscorer last season. The Portugal international was amongst a handful of players who lived up to expectations. However, despite the 37-year-old contributing a considerable amount, the Red Devils failed to make it to the top four in the league.
Ronaldo subsequently missed most of the pre-season under the new gaffer. The 37-year-old was seemingly angling for a move away from the club. However, he has ended up staying for the time being.
Ten Hag has opted to start Marcus Rashford in the centre-forward position in Ronaldo’s stead. The England international has delivered with crucial goals against Liverpool and Arsenal.
A player of the stature of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will evidently be unhappy about being a substitute. Will Ronaldo get back into the starting XI at United? It remains to be seen.
